While we LOVE the idea of a huge surprise of a puppy on Christmas day...we really do try and avoid an "actual puppy" joining your family on Christmas day. Why? Simply because it is typically a very busy day filled with extra visitors and events, not a calm environment.
Go home day is stressful enough for puppies, they are leaving the only family/environment they have ever known. While we do all that we can to prepare puppies for this very big day, it is still stressful. We encourage families to have a few days of "calm" when they bring their puppy home. Let them learn about their new people and where they will live in a peaceful atmosphere during this big transition. Introducing a puppy into their new home at Christmas is typically not "calm".
How can you still have the excitement of a new puppy under the tree? We recommend a basket full of puppy things (collar, toys, etc.) and a picture of the puppies, or planned breeding, so that the receiver of this amazing gift can have fun planning with you!
Anticipating the arrival of a new puppy is like a gift that keeps on giving!! Get your home ready, get your veterinarian, trainer and groomer all lined up and initial appointments made...and watch puppies grow from birth to 8 weeks when your new family member gets to join you!
Delay of gratification can really be a wonderful thing...for you and especially for your puppy!!
Head on over to our upcoming litters tab to see what we have coming up and then submit your puppy application...we would love to help you create a fabulous Christmas surprise!!
