If you guessed that Greta has successfully honeymooned, then you are correct!
The puppies are due on February 19th and will be ready to go home on April 19th.
We are expecting some absolutely gorgeous, amazing little puppies in this litter. Fun fact: Did you know that a litter of puppies can have more than one dad? Yes, it's true!
Greta's litter might just be one of those litters. We did a dual-sired litter with both Dutton and Draeko, and we will do a DNA test on each puppy after they are born to determine their dad.
Why a dual sire? First of all, we had a hard time deciding which male to pair with Greta as they both offer so much when matched with her. So, we decided to give it a try and see if we get puppies from both of these amazing boys. Sometimes dual-sired litters still have only one father, as sometimes there is only one winner in the race to fertilize the puppy eggs.
It will be fun to see what happens! We will be able to tell for sure just by looking at some of the puppies. For example, if there is a phantom puppy, we will know that Draeko is the father as Dutton does not carry the phantom gene. But DNA testing will provide definitive proof.
